Total Child Health and Brookes Publishing Agree to Release ASQ-3™ on CHADIS

Baltimore, Maryland, Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Total Child Health Inc., the licensors of CHADIS©, the Child Health and Development Interactive System, is pleased to announce that they have come to an agreement with Brookes Publishing Co., Inc., the publisher of the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, Third Edition (ASQ-3™) to make available this new version of the widely used developmental screening tool on its system beginning the 2nd quarter 2010.

Dr. Barbara Howard, President and CEO, Total Child Health Inc.: "We are very pleased to announce this expansion of our continuing relationship with Brookes Publishing. The ASQ-3 is fast becoming the industry standard for screening development of young children, replacing the earlier edition of ASQ which already held that position. With CHADIS, we are trying to bring the best and latest developmental screening tools to our customers and the inclusion of ASQ-3 in our offering certainly helps achieve that."

Melissa Behm, Executive Vice President, Brookes Publishing Co., Inc.: "Brookes Publishing is pleased to see this expanded association with CHADIS, an industry innovator in online questionnaire delivery and decision-support. The great response we received from our launch last year of the ASQ-3 is more gratifying when we can further bring our helpful products to an increasingly larger pediatric community. Our goal has always been to help bring valuable resources to health care of children, and through our CHADIS connection our objective is furthered substantially."

With a release on CHADIS in Spring 2010, all CHADIS customers will be able to use the ASQ-3 in the core CHADIS package with no additional cost and unlimited usage. CHADIS will be offering the entire ASQ-3 tool, which includes 21 age-specific questionnaires ranging from 2 months through 60 months that enable screening from 1 month to 66 months in the developmental areas of communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal-social. The questionnaires will be available in both English and Spanish.

As with the previous version of the ASQ, parents can complete the questionnaires anywhere the Internet is available, and CHADIS automatically collects the answers, scores and then tabulates the data in an easy-to-use format, which clinicians can view either online or on a printable report. Clinicians still have immediate access to the ASQ-3™ User's Guide, the CHADIS e-textbook, and over 20,000 clinical resources, handouts and other materials.

New features of the ASQ-3 include a 2-month questionnaire that reliably screens infants as young as 1 month, a 9-month questionnaire to help you follow the AAP's Screening Policy, new open-ended questions on behavior and language that assist in eliciting parent concerns that may indicate autism, a new standardization, and revised cutoff points based on the re-standardization.
